I recently picked up this grouping that was mostly photography dating between 1906-ish - 1918 of Herman E. Miller of Company A, Second Corps of Cadets, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia.

I think I put the portraits in chronological order.

The best part was the breast and shako plate for the Second Corps dress uniform.post-3656-0-84557400-1406887260.jpg

one question, should I clean up the metal insignia? I tend to leave pieces in their "natural" state but I was wondering you guys opinion.

Excellent grouping!!! Do not clean the metal insignia, leave that in its natural state. If and this is a big if, they were really in bad condition I would do something to stabilize them so they would not worsen but that's all.  have you researched this person? Did he serve during the Boston Police Strike?
