Hey guys! I just picked up my first plywood footlocker today to store some of my collection in, anyway I have a question. I got it cheap but somebody painted over the original paint with a white, the white is chipping here and there, how do I strip off the top paint without hurting the original paint underneath?

I know there's a way, I saw it american restoration before, I wanna say a watered down mineral spirit but I don't know, I'm going to try a heat gun and hope it works

The added paint is probibly not as durable as the original, try applying masking tape, pressing it down with your fingernail, and then peeling it off.

Try scrubbing with a nylon Scotch Brite pad using mineral spirits, Orange Goo B Gone type stuff or something similar
