12A54 Posted August 18, 2014 Share #10 Posted August 18, 2014 The patent is from 1888, not the item. These were made, I suspect, either from post-WWI through post WWII or just post-WWII. The reason I say that is because there are many examples of later US ribbons (through WWII) by this company/patent. Search "rosette" on eBay and you'll see many listed. Which from what I have found, are still being made today. Yours however is probably dated as its patent date. That's what I am guessing, and the one fellow is probably correct, it being a Verdun medal rosette.
