Naval Air Squadrons - Fixed Wing 'V' Squadrons

Hi All,

 

A fine 1958 model VF-152 patch used the squadron flew the Banshee. The last of it's kind. Going forward and following their 1958 USS Bennington (CVA-20) WestPac deployment they transitioning to the AD Skyraider.

Ill add a couple of mine... Heres a Jolly Roger and a French Navy (Rafale) and US Navy (Hornet F-18) training patch

 

Last year the French Navy pilots were training with their US counterparts at NAS Oceana.

January 18, 1952, VU-4 Detachment Quonset Point, Rhode Island re-designated Utility Squadron TWO (VU-2).
July 1, 1965, VU-2 was re-designated Navy Fleet Support Squadron TWO (VC-2).
September 30, 1980, Navy Fleet Support Squadron TWO, Blue Falcons, were disestablished.

VW Eleven, the first squadron on the Atlantic DEW Line (Distant Early Warning) disestablished in 1965

about 5.5 inches in diameter.

VX-4 The Evaluators - Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Four, (AIRTEVRON FOUR) Established in 1952 and based at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, California. Their tail code was XF, and they flew the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom, Grumman F-14 Tomcat and the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet until their disestablishment in 1994.
