your 205th patches are just different era , the "EI" probably being the first "earliest" version before a "designation" change ..........................

Johnny not sure I understand your post. I have never seen a 205th geeia Even at the geeia website. Most can be crossed from geeia to e and I. Not the 205th

Johnny to be more specific the E&I patches are later than the GEEIA patches most of the E&I (Electronics Installation) can be traced to GEEIA patches, I have never seen another 205th GEEIA only 205th E&I

Allow me to add a very bad photo of one of the coolest USAF shirts I've ever owned.

The unit patch was Japanese made and was just gorgeous. The name tape was also local made with the Airman's name, rank and unit in English and Japanese.

The whole garment looks like it was tailor made, with the cloth being a shade or two darker than OG-107, and the weight being slightly lighter, but still very sturdy.

Unfortunately this is long gone or I would post a better photo.

You have a 205th GEEIA patch posted next to the 205th EI above ????????????

It was probably a short run of the patches made on the "GEEIA" 205th and making them hard to find, I don't see any reason why a "fake" would be made of an odd ball unit like this otherwise ......................

In the early 1970's the Ground Electronic Engineering Installation Agency Squadrons were renamed to Electronics Installation Squadrons and that designation is still used today.

Thanks to Salvage Sailor for identifying this patch.  United States Air Force 2862nd GEEIA Squadron, which was based at Patrick AFB, Florida.
