Help Printing Display Cards with White Letters on Dark Background

Recommended Posts

Short of going to Kinkos, does anyone know how to print with white letters over a grayed out background image such as the one displayed? I'm trying to recreate a similar style display card to go in my cases and haven't been able to do so.

What I would do is go to a craft or paper store, get that color paper then change the font color to white righ before you print it and it will look that way. But make sure when you are typing it it is black on white until righ before you print it so you can tell if you made any mistakes, hope this helps.

Sparty,

If the issue is that the white does not reveal well on the dark background, try (if you have decent software) placing a drop shadow behind the text...

here is an example I just quickly threw together...

Unless you go to a real deal printer that print with pantone inks and can actually run the text as white onto a brown paper stock the only way to do this is to print this out on white paper and print out the full image in 4 colors. You would need something like photoshop or gimp to lay it out and print it. Be prepared to use A LOT of ink.

There is no white in in a regular ink jet printer so this wont actually work.

Photoshop and any printer..

unless the image is VERY dark you will need a drop shadow or bevel for the text to pop.
