GeneralCheese Posted July 10, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 10, 2014 I got just scored this in a huge medical grouping... My very first medic helmet! Unfortunately it is just the liner, but this has to be one of the coolest liners I've ever seen. I've tried to keep myself from posting stuff before I receive it, but I couldn't wait to post this... bellasilva Posted July 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 11, 2014 Awesome! I had one similar years ago and I so regret selling it. Enjoy it!

USdog Posted July 11, 2014 Share #6 Posted July 11, 2014 Very nice... Is the the medic insignia post war? What else is in the group?
GeneralCheese Posted July 11, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted July 11, 2014 Very nice... Is the the medic insignia post war? What else is in the group? I think it is WWII era. The other items are all WWII dated, as far as I know. Here's a pic:
B24AT6 Posted July 11, 2014 Share #8 Posted July 11, 2014 Nice grouping and great liner, but I'm not 100% sure at least the Lt's mark is WWII. It appears to be a decal like was common in the late 40s or 50s, but you would have to have it in hand to be sure. Great liner either way, congrats! B24AT6 Posted July 11, 2014 Share #10 Posted July 11, 2014 It almost looks handpainted to me. This is the best photo I could find, but this is another liner from the forum that has an identical decal, just upside down compared to this one. Justin Posted July 11, 2014 Share #12 Posted July 11, 2014 The M3 Medic Bag is from the 1960's. I like the bag set.
GeneralCheese Posted July 11, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted July 11, 2014 The M3 Medic Bag is from the 1960's. I like the bag set. Thanks. There's another liner the seller has from the same man, when he was a Captain. It's a fairly obvious early-mid '50s liner with decals, so that would place this one to the late-40s. GeneralCheese Posted July 14, 2014 Author Share #14 Posted July 14, 2014 Got it today, it's actually a 2nd Lieutenant. The rank is a decal, applied over the red cross. It has 1952 dated nape strap, so KW use. Take a look...

GeneralCheese Posted July 14, 2014 Author Share #18 Posted July 14, 2014 I took the sweatband out since it was hanging on by 2 clips, and I didn't want to rip the webbing further by leaving it in.
GeneralCheese Posted July 15, 2014 Author Share #19 Posted July 15, 2014 Also the leather chinstrap is odd. It is a black buckle, but has green rivets.
mdk0911 Posted July 15, 2014 Share #20 Posted July 15, 2014 very nice medic liner - I would have no problem having this is my collection! Looks like the cross is painted as there is red color inside the hole on the front on the liner?
