Got da Penny Posted June 13, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 13, 2008 These were found in a little shop yesterday and are stamped "Sterling" on the reverse. Can anyone guess the maker of these.?? if possible. The pin opens all the way if that helps. Thanks, CS

John Cooper Posted June 13, 2008 Share #3 Posted June 13, 2008 Hi, There are known patterns that it is similar too and I am sure you can make a case for each but since this is likely from a goverment supplied hub\die hence it is marked only sterling as prescribed then it is a tough call. Over all it is a very nice wing that is based on the "Adams" design from 1919. I suspect by the forcer pattern on the reverse it was made later in the war. I base this on wings of the same pattern mark sterling but are flat backed and very heavy. Regards, John
