Sabrejet Posted June 30, 2014 Author Share #52 Posted June 30, 2014 Sherman Flail...one of Hobart's "Funnies". Used successfully by the British / Canadian armies to clear a path through minefields on and after D-Day. Saved many lives. Offered to the US Army too...but they turned it down. Big mistake! Sabrejet Posted June 30, 2014 Author Share #54 Posted June 30, 2014 The very first M4 received by Britain via Lend-Lease from the USA. Christened "Michael", it toured the UK to help raise the British equivalent of War Bonds. Sabrejet Posted June 30, 2014 Author Share #69 Posted June 30, 2014 The mighty M103 in USMC markings. This heavy tank was designed to counter the then Soviet "heavies" like the JS3. It was somewhat under-powered given the weight of that massive turret!
