Viccas Posted June 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2014 Excuse me, I am new at the forum and dont know exactly if this question is correct here. I know of a Ike Jacket that has then number B-6759. Please, would be possible to identify the owner with those numbers? Thanks!! victor
Sabrejet Posted June 19, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2014 That is what is known as a "laundry number". The "B" is the initial letter of his last name and the numbers are the last four digits of his Army serial number. There are some forum members who know how to research this data. I hope they will be able to help you.
Garandomatic Posted June 19, 2014 Share #3 Posted June 19, 2014 The site www.wwii-enlistment.com has a way to run the laundry marks to narrow down owners. Your guy could be one of 87 possibilities: Check this out: http://wwii-enlistment.com/search/?asn=&laundryNumber=b6759&forename=&surname=&state=&county=&birthYear=&search=Search
