rusl4 Posted June 17, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2014 I found this 12lb. Bormann cannonball close to the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield (on private property with permission for life). I dug every piece of it out of the ground and pieced it back together. It has 72 lead balls inside. The hole was about 2 feet deep when I got the last piece out. manayunkman Posted June 17, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 17, 2014 How do you think it ended up there ? And were all the pieces close together ? Was it a dud ? Love the way you got it all back together !
rusl4 Posted June 17, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted June 17, 2014 I cannot say how it ended up in the ground, poor sighting of the gun with all the confusing but I believe the fuse might have been cut wrong. The hole was about 2-3 feet deep and across so when it exploded the pieces didn't go far.

rusl4 Posted June 17, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted June 17, 2014 It took about an hour, every time I thought I had all the pieces the detector would read more.
