45govt Posted June 13, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted June 13, 2014 Hello Michael Yes it does have a reverse I just didn't think to photo it as there is no inscription, so just the wreath and "US MINT" This is an MK 16 probably second period and both the MK 4, which was the first period, and MK 16 are 44MM. 45govt Posted June 16, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted June 16, 2014 Hello Firefighter The marksman collar buttons began in 1881, in 1884 the ornate bronze Marksman bar came out and the next year the plain silver bar replaced the bronze one. Once the shooter qualified as a marksman he received a set of buttons and if qualified the next year he wore two sets of buttons, if qualified for a third year he received the marksman bar to wear permanently, following that he would wear the marksman bar and if currently qualified he would wear one pair of buttons if not qualified he would wear just the bar. Here are the buttons and bars.
