uplandmod Posted June 6, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2014 Although my collection mostly focused on Iwo Jima, I don't pass up unique items that are not often seen. As I've been collecting named uniforms since 2010 and i've learn to appreciate how amazing rare D-day uniform really are. I've only come across three in my researching of uniforms, two of which I bough, the other that I missed was from an auction that ended early. The first belonged to a PhM on LST-284, who was also trained with Foxy 29 as part of the medical crew on the ship.
uplandmod Posted June 6, 2014 Author Share #2 Posted June 6, 2014 The second belong to a Momm1c who was assigned to LST-380. He stayed in Navy long after the war until the 1960s. I also own his blues as well. Amazingly here is a photo of both LST-284 and LST-380 right next to each other. Glad to own these two jumpers from one of the most historic battles of WWII!
