I wanted to start a thread of original (non re-enactment or uniforms in collections) LRP, LRRP and Rangers in Vietnam pictures.
Please caption them as best you can, as to names, dates and locations (if known).
I'll set the ball rolling.

Anyone have a thought on the beret flash “Dougherty” is wearing?

Its divided bendwise. Red/blue/yellow worn with the 23d inf Recon beercan.

Id seen it in a book close up atop a skull. Thought it was in Bowman’s LRRP book, but I was wrong.

Love any input.

Here is a 23rd LRRP beret from my collection that’s pretty much the same as the one in the photo, although mine is missing the yellow tab above the flash (possibly ranger?). Interestingly, mine is on a US made Bancroft beret from the 60s. Flash and beercan DI are Vietnamese made.
