BlueBookGuy Posted May 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2014 Hello all, please does anyone know whether the M-5 "Flak" helmet had an even very small, but comproved combat service in Europe? I did a lot of research but it looks like it wasn't, at least until now I wasn't able in seeing any pics or reading it was indeed used. Do not know where I could to do more searching. Should I someday start a display of "Flak armours" to be placed on a torso (just the armors and helmet, no pieces of clothing/equipment) I'd like very much choose a M-5 model. But I doubt this could go OK together with the classic vests and aprons, we see as worn by B-17 or B-24 waist gunners. Could the M-5 be more correctly associated with B-29 pilots, or even with B-24 waist gunners in the P.T.O.? Thanks very much for any helps!! Greetings from Italy. Franco. SergeantMajorGray Posted May 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 30, 2014 I believe there are 2 pictures somewhere on here of the M5 being used in the PTO.
