Canteen carriers were either WW2 or Korea wars vintage. I assume that they were issued thru ARVN Q store or bought at markets.

I agree with X, You may see the Seals at times wearing mixes but more often they would wear a camo shirt/jacket and blue jeans. RON

You wil also see some of the SF or Lrrps,Marine Recon guys wearing canteen covers one on each side( or more) holding the mags for the M16.The covers allowed them more ammo capacity like the BAR belts did. kammo-man Posted June 13, 2008 Share #24 Posted June 13, 2008 Hey fellow Tiger Collectors .... The Chap with the zippered pockets is wearing a custom made shirt. I dont like to use RJs names for tigers but the pattern is usually seen on Flight suits. It has the thing varient to the upper left chest . nice custom shirt. o
Copran Posted June 14, 2008 Share #25 Posted June 14, 2008 You probably mean JWC pattern (John Wayne Compact) , indeed this pattern was widely used to make flight suit at the beginning of the war (64-65) Thanks for having identified the pattern.
