bryang Posted May 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2014 I might be sort of cheating, but I found some of my old uniforms and items from many years ago. I started my Army career as a Reservist (prior to Active Duty). I served a few years in a Pathfinder platoon, and found these items from this time. The map was the one issued to me in Pathfinder school (Fort Benning, GA .... 30 years ago!)

bryang Posted May 20, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted May 20, 2014 //Autocorrect on my phone, why you do this? I meant boonie, not beret Its an old (as in very old) woodland hat. Still has the old and faded "cat eyes" sewn on the back, just above my name tag. I feel sort of awkward realizing that this stuff was what I once wore .... over 30 years ago! How the hell did I ever get this old?

bryang Posted May 26, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted May 26, 2014 Been opening the floodgate to a lot of memories - mostly good ones. As a young 17 year old private E-nothing back in 1980, majority of our NCOs and officers were Vietnam vets, with a few of the much older/senior guys Korea vets. My buddies and I would privately poke fun at many of these old farts with bad hip, trick knees, broken backs, arm pain, etc ... Never thought I'd see the day when I would actually BE one of these old farts!
