'FAT' MP Brassard letters

Every so often a WW2 style MP brassard comes up with obviously fatter letters than the spec.

 

I finally got one form a very good source, that is actually made of woven dark blue wool and not felt. But the letters are just larger enough so you can see the difference in a photo.

 

I had bid on some photos of what looked like a pre-early war Guard unit from the mid-west wearing one like this, but the auctions just up and vanished without any warning. Yeah, I know you want photos, but there's the whole uploading photo issue thing, But if you have seen these you know what I mean by fat letters.

 

Anyone ever heard anything about this variation?
