Backtheattack Posted May 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2014 A museum I visited a few days ago. Location at 97215 Uffenheim, Germany, Wiesenstr. 20. A museum under ownership of the local army reserve organisation. It has 4 great halls, first most german World War II including 8,8 cm anti-aircraft canon, german artillery, dig out finds, some weapons, second hall modern german army and East German Army, vehicles, trucks, some russian tanks, and some modern german tanks. Third hall communication equipment from 1900 to present times, fourth hall US Army World War II including Half Tracks, Trucks, and much more. It seems the main interest of the owners are vehicles, most of them in running condition and because of the mud on the wheels and tracks it seems they use them. A very interesting museum, but they own so much vehicles you couldn`t visit them well, they stand side by side so a clear picture is impossible. Here are some pictures of the museum:

marentius Posted June 27, 2014 Share #6 Posted June 27, 2014 I came yesterday by chance to be in Uffenheim, where the museum is located. Unfortunately when I arrived I saw the sign outside the museum warning that it is opened every 1st Sunday of the month from april to october. Luckily for me a gentleman doing some mainteinance works took me to visit one of the two halls.great pieces indeed,I have to plan a visit during the official opening time.He told me anyway that almost 90% of the vehicles are in moving conditions.I saw a good selection of personal weapons and equipment too. There is also a web site to be found ar this address Www.zivilindwehrtechnik.de
