My 83rd Division "Thunderbolt" Collection

Recommended Posts

So, the guy whose name is in the book Col. Edward C. Miller was the director of personnel for the 2nd Service Command during WW2 and not related to the 83rd... bummer.

My family does have an interesting relationship with the 83rd.  My grandmother met a guy on the train, while the 83rd was at Atterbury, and he asked to write to her while he was overseas.  Well, he did and she kept all his letters.  Can’t remember if my dad knew what happened to him or not, but I’m pretty sure he did survive the war.

This is the guy who wrote my grandmother.  Cpl. Joseph Frankovich Jr. (35562368) was in Co. A, 331st Infantry.  This postcard he sent was postmarked 26 April 1944.
