4 years and 4 months of collecting USAAF

Recommended Posts

I have not been very active on the forum lately, but that doesn't mean I haven't been active in collecting. On the contrary!

And finally after 4 years and 4 months of collecting USAAF bomber crew related militaria I feel comfortable enough to show you my collection.

As you will see there is still a lot to collect for me (some more oxygen masks for example), but at least it starts to get a little more serious now. The fun goes on!!

And here is a mannequin of a 1947 KNIL (Royal Netherlands East Indies Army) soldier. They wore a mishmash of uniform items. A lot of which was US surplus from WWII.

And finally my collection of Dutch klewangs. Also used by US troops in the Pacific, as has been discussed thoroughly on the forum.

The leather squadron patches I painted myself, by the way. The rest is all original (at least I hope it is).

The 5th Air Force patch on the pink Ike is not original to the jacket. It is attached with two pins just to make the jacket look a little better. ;)
