I have the opportunity to aquire this shadow box . Seller states he aquired it from the family of Harry Warden , who was a Captain in the USN during WWII . I know the pictures arent much to judge it by but does it look legitimate to you guys and what is something like this worth ? Thanks guys .

Yup...I agree with Mark...probably made in China (though my ship pulled in somewhere that these were in abundance, yet I can't remember where) and available at stores ranging from the dollar store to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I think my wife bought one for our nautical-themed bathroom back in the early 2000s.

Not military and not collectable, unless you really dig nautical stuff.

The dedication makes it a kind of cool piece, but still not really of any "militaria" value. I'd say that as a used piece of nauticalia, it's probably worth about $5...with the dedication, maybe $15-$20, depending on if the buyer finds it value-enhancing.

Sorry I bring better news...
