BEAST Posted June 2, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2008 Our town has been purchasing realistic lifesize statues to display throughout the downtown. Most of them have been statues that fit in with a local theme. A statue of a father teaching his daughter how to ride a bike is located alongside the main bike trail. But this one really caught my eye! Not sure where this one really fits in, but I think it is a great piece of art!
Jim Baker Posted June 2, 2008 Share #3 Posted June 2, 2008 Beast, Love that statue. Looking at your "downtown", I think I would like your town too. Very All American!!
IMPERIAL QUEST Posted June 2, 2008 Share #4 Posted June 2, 2008 I love the title on the plate. I'll bet this one is a real traffic-stopper.
Brian Keith Posted June 4, 2008 Share #5 Posted June 4, 2008 That would be quite a distraction! I really like it! BKW
SteveR Posted June 4, 2008 Share #6 Posted June 4, 2008 An iconic sculptural image that portrays the celebration of the end of WWII. It is nice to see a sculptor has brought it to a 3 deminsional work from a famous photo. The fellows are right. It looks like you live in a nice town. Steve
Bugme Posted June 4, 2008 Share #7 Posted June 4, 2008 I love it! A sculpture to immortalize this famous kiss at Time Square as the war ended. I wonder how many people actually know the significance of that day when it was announced that Japan had surrendered and this photo was taken?
