I did some reading here on the forum and found that the numerals were only used on the USMC Expeditionary ribbons for a short time...then the subsequent awards switched to stars. Do you think this ribbon bar is kosher? It is old, and looks to have been like this for a long time but I am wondering if this bar looks good?

thanks for the help/opinions

Bar looks good to me. Many Marines continued to use numerals on their Expeditionary Medals and Good Conducts after the regs switched to stars. He may have gotten out and come back in for WWII

I don't like the numeral. It looks like a modern number. The old ones are smooth, not voided in the center. The rest of the ribbons are WWII though.

Hello,

I agree with Allan, WWII ribbons and star, modern number "3". Looks like it came off an Air Medal.
