Bebel Posted April 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2014 This patch is sewn at the back of a veteran's G-1 flight jacket. This man was a Phantom RIO with VF-41 when they were operating for the 1961 Cuba crisis. The patch is showing the Cuba island. But I do not find what "Kwang" could be? Anybody would know that? A special Navy or vets joke? Franck

Mitch Posted April 20, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 20, 2014 I would say since they were stationed at NAS Key West, FL during the Cuban missile crisis. I would say a spin on Key West Air National Guard . Either way I believe the KW is for Key West M.
Bebel Posted April 21, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted April 21, 2014 Thank you for your replies. Key West Air National Guard could be a possibility. However, I don't have found any link between ANG and Cuba crisis. Moreover, the original owner of this jacket has never be an ANG member from what I know.
