rustbucket Posted April 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2014 It seems that a lot of the packs and canteens that I see for infantry have the letter on top and the number below, while hat and collar insignia have the number on top and letter below. atb Posted April 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 20, 2014 The "hat and collar insignia" you see must be from after the change was made from letter above/number below unit markings. Or, conversely, the markings on equipment you see are from before the change to the number above/letter below style. I do not know when the change occured, however.
