Squad leader

My UNIS marked trousers named to William E. Wheeler, HQ Co, 1st Bat., 23rd Marines, 4th Div.

According to the USMC casualty cards, he was wounded at Tinian, on June 15, 1944.

Any further info about him are welcome.

Dan.

My mistake. It was at Saipan not Tinian.

UNIS marked m1941 Haversack. Its missing a couple rivets, and the top bed-roll strap has been removed and turned into a carrying handle.

Dirt Detective

I always admire Flage guys items! Any excuse for them to be aired!

Here is a nicely marked M41 jacket; unfortunately not named.

I believe it to be a Lieutenant of the 4th Marines, 24th Infantry, 2nd Bn, E Co.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, because I am not %100 sure if this is a UNIS marking or not. I haven't got a clue as to what the symbol painted on the back means. Any ideas?
