ODA021 Posted May 30, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 30, 2008 Just wanted to share this small group of Little Bear insignia. It belonged to my father-in law. I am pretty sure the patch on the left is japanese made. Any idea where the patch on the right was made? Thanks fellas, Dave

vicjoy1945 Posted May 30, 2008 Share #4 Posted May 30, 2008 Yes. His name was James R. Jempson. He was a pilot in Co A in 67-68. I wonder if he knew WO1 Richard A. Muccioli who served as a pilot with the Little Bears during the same period !?! The patch on the right appears to be the early US made flat edge twill subdued patch in my opinion.I know the Vietnamese made subdued one also but the ones Im familiar with have a little thicker/heavy thread stitch to the lightning bolt. The 25th and the 1st Cav seened to get the US twills fairly quick and can find them reasonably priced today. Guest Little Bear 626 Posted June 24, 2008 Share #6 Posted June 24, 2008 Just wanted to share this small group of Little Bear insignia. It belonged to my father-in law. I am pretty sure the patch on the left is japanese made. Any idea where the patch on the right was made? Thanks fellas, Dave I was with the Little Bears in Vietnam in 1967 and flew missions as the door gunner with your father-in-law. Quite a few times, he flew with another pilot, Lt. Zellsman. The circular patch on the left in the orginal 1st "Little Bear" pocket patch. Other one may have been reproduced "in-country". I have two orginals, both I brought back with me on my return home in Nov. of '67. Very rare LB hat pin . Crests are 25th Aviation Battalion. There are a couple of books about the Little Bears. Angels Wing & Highest Traditions, both on Amazon.com.

RD Holmes Posted March 3, 2023 Share #11 Posted March 3, 2023 I was looking up my fathers old unit when he was in Vietnam and Little Bears came up. Just seeing if any other Veterans remember my father Ronald Holmes. He passed away in 2011 and I’m just getting to his 35 mm picture slides. Seeing if any Vets here are in the photos
