Help with Metal Sergeant Chevron

Here's one I picked up in a small shadow box WW2 grouping from a 41st Division vet. A little over 1 1/2 inches tall. Obviously trench art made:

The one above is typically associated with the Korean War era. (sandcast) 

Here is one made from what looks like coin silver. Along with a Vietnam era beer can insignia.
