Photo Restoration - Recommendation for Professional Help?

I recently purchased a WWI grouping that has two tightly rolled pano photos. I would like to pay a professional to flatten them out for me, since the photo content has some historical significance (vs. monetary), and I don't want to screw it up (they are group solider shots from Camp Lusitania).

I got one estimate at approximately $300.00 per photo. And they are small .... not yard-longs. I really want the conservation work to happen, but it's tough to justify that cost.

Let me know what you think ...

Thanks in advance ... Tim

Do a google search for flatten rolled photos and you'll find that you can do it yourself with some household items and patience: http://www.thefamilycurator.com/home/2013/7/9/photo-tutorial-how-to-relax-and-rehumidify-old-rolled-photog.html#.UzuN2q1dUVc is one example.

If the paper is not too dry, I've had luck placing them between large sheets of glass (I used glass from large old photo frames).
