In memory of 798 Marine Raiders who were killed in action in World War II.

In memory of four U.S. Army Servicemans from 328th regiment , 26th infantry division.

THOMAS BOWMAN KIA 10/30 1944

WILLIAM Bereza KIA 12/24 1944

CHESTER MUNDELIUS KIA 3/14 1945

ALAN Milne KIA 4/8 1945

 

And when he gets to Heaven, Saint Peter he will tell: "Another Marine reporting, sir — I've served my time in Hell!"

Wow! Dan you have an awesome story to tell and the photos sure do the trick. Not too many threads can last over 5 years but I can see why this one has. Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad I joined this forum.

Thanks for the compliments. In my dreams to work for the Ww1museum in KC! I have been there quite a few times and it never gets old.

This collection is amazing...only issue I see it that I would practically live down there if I had it!!! Nice work, and its great that history is still alive there in your bunker!

I hope to add some new info about my grandfather. I have commissioned Golden Arrow Research to dig thru the National Archives to see what he can find daily unit reports on company D 12th MG battalion. It's such a shame his records were destroyed in the St. Louis fire in 1973.

I have purchased a new home and will have to tear down this display to move. Really never thought about moving. I already am making plans for a new WW1 trench/bunker display. Stay tuned.

I just realized this thread was posted here just a little over 10 years ago. Sad to see it go, but it will be fun to build it again.
