Hi,

A still-life evoking a pilot of P-40N of the 89th Fighter Squadron, the Burma Banshees, based in Assam in India at the border with Burma.
This pilot is dressed with a summer shirt, with two patches sewn on the arms : CBI at left and USAAF at right. The 80th FG is attached to the 10th Air Force.
The flying helmet is an A-9 fitted with earphones maintained using foam ear cups sewn. The rest of the headgear are B-7 flying goggles and an A-9 oxygen mask. Our lieutenant is also equipped with A-10 gloves and AN-6531-1 sunglasses.

Great!!!

Too often was this operation theater overlooked, if not forgotten. A real pleasure the shirt - and, very good state. This pilot could be correct if not equipped with a B-3 Life Vest, many a photo I have seen of them flying combat operations in areas where this necessity was remote enough.

Compliments!!

Franco.
