Happy Friday all,

The seller described this as an Army"59Th Aviation Company" patch, but the more I look at it I'm wondering if it is not perhaps an Air Force 1959 Pilot Class piece.

Anyone recognize this design?

Thanks!

This is a great site for flying class patches.Goes by Air Force training bases.

Thanks for the link but I beat you to it! I just spent the last half hour or so going through all the links to the different schools/years. I think I only saw one patch there from the 50's. :o I think these early pieces are pretty scarce.

Great site though !

This patch is identified on the USAFPatches.com site as a class patch. More specifically, Class 1959-H / 3306th Pilot Training Squadron (Contract Flying) / 3306th Pilot Training Group (Contract Flying) out of Bainbridge AFB, GA. Prior to 1959, the 3306th trained using T-6 Texans, T-28 Trojans, and T-34 Mentors - all prop driven aircraft. In December 1959, the 3306th converted to T-37 Tweet jet trainers - hence the reference to "Last of the Prop Busters" - Class 59-H was the last class to train on a prop driven aircraft.

Thanks F-111A for the additional info.Makes sense about the motto on the patch after reading about the transition from prop to jet .I found a photo of a plane that was used at the base.
