Bwormuth Posted March 27, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2014 I have a small book that I picked up. It belonged to Bruce Luther (or Luther Bruce, depending on where you look) of the 136th New York Infantry Regiment. On the inside cover, there is Luther B. 136 NY CO.B. The book is titled The Course Of Time: A Poem, written by Robert Pollok. The dimensions are about 3.5 inches x 5 inches x .5 inches tall. Damages: The binding looks to have tape over it. The cover is scratched and the edges are worn. The book is in good condition for its age. Here is his information from the NYS website: LUTHER, BRUCE.—Age, 25 years. Enrolled, August 23, 1862, at North Dansville, to serve three years; mustered in as sergeant, Co. B , September 25,1862; promoted first sergeant, April 5, 1863; mustered in as first lieutenant, Co. C, April 16, 1864; mustered out with company, June 13, 1865, near Washington, D. C . ; also borne as Luther Bruce. Commissioned first lieutenant, April 7, 1S64, with rank from December 16, 1863, vice Charles Tresser killed in action. What do you Think? Any and all comments appreciated!
