Flashlarue Posted March 22, 2014 #1 Posted March 22, 2014 10th Cav Reg, Buffalo Soldiers, "Ready and Forward", early pre WW1 DUI made by A. H. Dondero, Inc. I found it in a box of modern Boy Scout pins. They come in matched pairs of left and right facing buffaloes.
tredhed2 Posted March 22, 2014 #2 Posted March 22, 2014 Am guessing there is a typo about this being a pre WW 1 DI in your original post. The design was approved 14 Sept 23. Nice find, too bad pin is GOA.
TRR Posted March 22, 2014 #3 Posted March 22, 2014 Dave, I have seen these referred to as pre-prong back. Is that the proper term?
tredhed2 Posted March 22, 2014 #4 Posted March 22, 2014 Looks like a PB w/ the pin missing. There are only a couple of DIs w/ prongs, one being the 473rd IR.
Flashlarue Posted March 22, 2014 Author #5 Posted March 22, 2014 Yes it was a typo and should have read pre WWII. It is a screw back with a short pin at the top. It is there only bent a little downward.
all1knew Posted April 24, 2016 #7 Posted April 24, 2016 Here's a nice Meyer marked piece I just put on eBay for reference. William Kramer
