Scarecrow Posted March 15, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2014 Just acquired this wing and the more experienced wing collectors thoughts would be much appreciated. The wing seems to be cast from brass with a silver wash/plating. Very nice detail with what I think is a theatre made pin attachment. I also believe early wings from the 30's were sometimes silver plated brass, but can't understand why an early wing would be non US manufactured. Admittedly, my overall wing knowledge is limited. Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

TRR Posted March 15, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 15, 2014 Agreed and a nice one! Does anyone know how to date the unmarked British made wings...does the pin catch being thicker mean it was earlier?

Tony A Posted April 20, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 20, 2014 Yep - British indeed. I believe these are 1941 / early 42 by the construction and pin. Just my modest opinion though ! Tony A.
