- Theater made un-official DUIs. I'm not sure of the period on these or how/where they were worn.

The 32nd INF REG is a great unit with a lot of great items. My favorite has always been their jeep flags. Great collection. Best ABN

- Another original photo, from a different vet, dated April, 1952. This shows a jeep with the markings ( 7-32-I 3 HQ 8 ) the other photo appears to be ( 7-32-I 3 HQ 5 )

Note that the flag in this photo appears to have a white border. I have only ever seen a few Buccaneer flags, but none with a white border.

Thanks for the info. I figured they were post-war, but didn't know exact dates. You prompted me to do some online searching and I'm smarter for it !

Part of the UN forces, the Ethiopian Battalion was attached to the 7th ID. Elements of the Ethiopian Bn often fought alongside the 32nd RCT during the war. Here is a collar badge of the Ethiopian Imperial Guard Regiment, of which the Bn sent to Korea was a part. Also pictured is an Ethiopian Combat Infantry Badge.

@ rd12........Very interesting stuff with the Ethopian Army insignia, something that's seldom if at all seen or talked about, the badges of our more obscure UN Korean war allies.

The Ethiopian collar badge wasn't too hard to find ( I ended up with two actually ) but the Combat Infantry Badge was difficult. I finally found it at the Show of Shows a few years ago and the seller was only interested in trades for Signal Corps items. I returned the next year and saw him again, still with the badge, and still only wanted to trade. By the third year he remembered me. We talked a little bit but he was firm about trading. I asked him if I could at least take a picture of it and he throws his hands up and says "fine, I'll sell it!"

The picture of the Ethiopian uniform above is not mine but something I pulled from Google just to show the wear of the badges.

RE: your DIs in post #5, the DIs on the left are 60s and the two round ones on the right are early to mid 50s. Here's one I had forgotten about:

Your next mission rd12.....if you choose to except it..... will be to find and post in the first person ie not period photos but like your Ethiopian stuff, Columbian Army insignia from the Korean War period, as worn in Korea :D

I'll get on that..... actually right now I'm looking for a 2nd RGR Company scroll to complete my set of insignia from units attached to the 32nd RCT at one point or another during the war.

Thanks for sharing. I'm wondering if there is significance to the red vs. green border on these pins?

Another unit attached to the 32nd RCT during the war was the 13th Engineer Bn. Here is a 13th EN DI that I recently picked up. Japanese made, NBICo.
