Squeaker Posted March 10, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2014 What types of covers would have been used with dress uniforms during the time the U.S. was in Nicaragua? Would it have been the same as WWII era?
warguy Posted March 10, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2014 Are you referring to the Marine corps cover of that time period? If so, officers, em, dress service????

warguy Posted March 10, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 10, 2014 Banana War period dress blue caps for the Marine Corps should appear in shape similar to the ones used in WWII. It will a 1920's style ega on it, an the leather chin strap will be thinner than the WWII ones. You will see great photos illustrating the varying styles of the dress cap in Tulkoffs book Equipping the Corps. There was a major pattern change in 1922, but by the mid 1920's, the basic shape of the hat stayed essentially the same through WWII and even until today, with the ega going through additional changes through the years. A search here on the Forum might also assist with some photos for reference. Kevin
