patches Posted March 8, 2014 Share #201 Posted March 8, 2014 The late Dick O' Neill as one of MacArthur's righthand men, Colonel later Major General Courtney Whitney in the 1977 Movie MacArthur, a good casting if you asked me, the two do look alike. patches Posted March 8, 2014 Share #202 Posted March 8, 2014 And the worst casting I think, Kirk Douglas as Patton in the 1966 movie Is Paris Burning? Still of Douglas in the Movie, the famous cleft is seen of course. Hey nice shock of hair eh? Then we know that Patton was more than a bit then on top, and lacked a cleft in his chin, in fact as we can see, Douglas, though a fabulous actor as we all know, looked nothing like Patton. seanmc1114 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Share #223 Posted March 8, 2014 On the left are the real LT. Col. Harold G. Moore and Sergeant Major Basil Plumley and on the right are the two as portrayed by Mel Gibson and Sam Elliott in "We Were Soldiers". I know LTC Moore has been shown before, but the pictures of the two of them together are too good not to repeat.
