I sold that one years ago at the SOS just as you see it in my original post. No idea who currently owns it.

I was the caretaker of this grouping for a short time last year, until I reunited it with the daughter of the vet.

 

Clair Hess served as a 1st Lt with the 501st PIR, with jumps on D-Day and Market Garden. He was wounded at both.

 

He continued his service post-WWII, eventually serving during Korea as an Intelligence Officer. Hess retired in 1969, a full-bird Colonel.
