KRylander Posted April 19, 2020 Share #31 Posted April 19, 2020 Well, thank you, Kuba, for your help! I actually managed to find some info on Ruth Sobeck's life and service but I still have a number of named items which I cannot investigate further. As long as http://wwii-enlistment.com/ and http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-list.jsp?cat=WR26 are very helpful sources while researching enlisted personnel and male officers, they don't include servicewomen. It's sometimes troublesome to find information on someone without access to paid websites. I'm going to post more pictures of my collection soon so stay tuned! You look fantastic Ruth's uniform! I am honored at how you are celebrating her life. I am her great niece and I have been scanning some of her old negatives. I wish I knew who the two gentlemen are, but if I recall correctly, they were doctors.

MSGTCOOK Posted January 3 Share #37 Posted January 3 Does anyone kn ow what the colors are in this photo of the Nurse in what looks like a striped uniform? This is a US Army Nurse on the USS Comfort II (AH-6) in April 1945. We are trying to colorize the photo. Here is the link to the story and picture. I would think it would be black or blue stripes but not sure.
