Raidercollector Posted February 21, 2014 Author #5 Posted February 21, 2014 Just missing the sling. Nick
Jack's Son Posted February 21, 2014 #7 Posted February 21, 2014 I haven't seen one that nice since I was a kid visiting an older neighbor. Very nice, Nick.
Raidercollector Posted February 21, 2014 Author #9 Posted February 21, 2014 For some reason I always wanted one of these ,They always look so neat with that fold down Bayonet. Most you see are mismatched,Or beat up.This one was well taken care of . I have received lots of items from vets in the 70's and 80's. Will post more in the coming days.Just have to dig more stuff out.I still remember my friends Dad when he was painting his house in his marine HBT coat in the early 70,s. Than he told me he was at Iwo Jima. And gave me a few things he had captured .That,s when I got interested in marine history. Nick
Terry K. Posted February 21, 2014 #10 Posted February 21, 2014 Very nice weapon! These shoot great and can be found on occasion but usually used. The slings and muzzle covers will cost more than the weapon, however the dust cover can be had fairly cheaply.
Brian Dentino Posted February 21, 2014 #11 Posted February 21, 2014 Beautiful carbine......and very tough to find, especially in that condition!
BROBS Posted February 26, 2014 #14 Posted February 26, 2014 EXCELLENT rifle. wonderful find.. I would love to find one like this. -Brian
BOLO Posted February 27, 2014 #16 Posted February 27, 2014 it's in very well preserved condition, for something that was used in a tropical and salt air environment
Terry K. Posted February 27, 2014 #17 Posted February 27, 2014 The vast majority of these were used in China I believe, as they were issued mostly to Cavalry units.
doyler Posted February 28, 2014 #18 Posted February 28, 2014 Nick Thats way cool. Been looking to upgrade one I have.I have seen one other that was as close to factory new as you can get.Guy got it from a vet who found it in a armory/arsenal in Japan. These usually saw hard service. Thanks for posting RD
CINCPOA Posted February 28, 2014 #19 Posted February 28, 2014 Lovely prize. Do you know what outfit the Marine was with and where or when it got it? (the story)
Ed Fedory Posted August 12, 2014 #20 Posted August 12, 2014 Somebody really took the time to care for that weapon...most of the ones I've seen don't even come close to that condition!
