nebelwerfer Posted February 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2014 Hi, I tryed it in the Artillery Section, but with no Response, maybe ist better here: I took this Picture in the Military Museum diekirch in Luxemburg in a 105mm Display. I would like to know for what purpose this red marked Wrench was used. I believe fot fitting the Fuze. What is the correct Name for this item? Thank you Christian
The_Brick Posted February 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2014 If I am not mistaken the fuzes are shipped separate from the ordnance so that you do not have a premature detonation during transport. The artillery ammo is transported with the shipping ring which for one helps in the production of the ammo, as well as shipping of the ammo, as well as storage of the ammo since the fuze hole is plugged protecting the charge. The fuze setting tool also has a "flathead" screwdriver tip on the bottom for the setting of the fuze delay, so in essence it is multifunctional. I hope this helps, and there may also be someone who has some more info.
