RTC (Recruit Training Command) Great Lakes. 1984. Many of us started there. This was when I went there to train recruits as a Recruit Company Commander, SM1/ SMC

This is the command we would be subordinated to when in Japanese waters - usually they had us towing targets for the fleet live fire exercises

 

(Being assigned to this duty is how I attained an intimate relationship with USN helmets and life vests)
