R Michael Posted February 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 19, 2014 Hello all, Just picked up a small grouping from a 5th AAF vet and this was in the lot. I am curious to know if possible what type in belongs to. Part # on backside is 231653L and the front is stenciled 127L eng mount bolt. I am assuming part of engine cowling on the left wing. Thanks, Mike

Sparty On Posted February 19, 2014 Share #4 Posted February 19, 2014 Unfortunately he's unsure which plane. He did say they look like access panels, though and possibly could be from the 50s or 60s based on the stencils used for the lettering.

This was in a box with WWII Japanese insignia, Australian insignia, and his 5th AAF SSI. Good chance it is from WWII but who really knows. Fort Susquehanna Posted March 3, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 3, 2014 It looks similar to one of the access panels on a B-25, but the part number is not right- should be an 82- prefix. I would guess A-20.
