ocsfollowme Posted February 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2014 Are these pretty generic? It is marked sterling. Not sure if it is something that one would have purchased at the logistics school house or if it actually was a DI for a particular unit.
irish Posted February 12, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2014 Services of Supply sounds like WW1 terminology. Could this be a veterans piece from between the wars?
atb Posted February 12, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 12, 2014 While the Services of Supply did originate in WW1, it was a WW2 organization, too. An organization called War Department Overhead was redesignated as Services of Supply on March 27, 1942. The Services of Supply was redesignated as Army Service Force on March 12, 1943. The DUI shown above was worn by HQ, Services of Supply in WW2 and came in left and right facing pairs.
