Services of Supply. Is this a generic logistics DI or for an actual unit?

Are these pretty generic? It is marked sterling. Not sure if it is something that one would have purchased at the logistics school house or if it actually was a DI for a particular unit.

While the Services of Supply did originate in WW1, it was a WW2 organization, too. An organization called War Department Overhead was redesignated as Services of Supply on March 27, 1942. The Services of Supply was redesignated as Army Service Force on March 12, 1943. The DUI shown above was worn by HQ, Services of Supply in WW2 and came in left and right facing pairs.
