WWII Japanese collar tabs? Real, fake?

I obtained these at an estate sale for a vet that served as a WWII transport pilot in the PTO and also in the Korean War. They were in a bag with a few AAF Angus & Coote pilot prop lapel pins and a small, old Korean flag. One set is unwrapped. Two sets are wrapped. I am not that familiar with Japanese or Korean stuff, but from the research I've done on what few websites there are that cover Japanese stuff, these appear to be Japanese collar tabs. I don't believe they are Korean, as the people handling the estate sale said.

Can anyone tell me what I have here? If these are Japanese collar tabs, are they real or fake?

They're original. Colonel tabs on left. 1st Lt on right. Very nice pickup!

Haven't seen any in original packing in years.

As Kurt says " very nice pickup !" of original Japanese collar insignia.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. Any ideas as to value of the collar tab sets?

Also in the bag was this flower badge. I have no idea whatsoever what this is or even if it's Japanese. Maybe a cap insignia? Any thoughts?

That is a cap badge for a school or university.
