Need hep : lt col 28th infantry division

Hi guys,

I've recently bought a ww2 souvenir (sort of stick engraved), belonged to Lt col Dale c Marlin. He was a veteran of ww1, fought in France with the 110th infantry regiment, 28th infantry division. But he doens't appear in the 28th infantry roster of ww2, can't find any informations...

If someone can help me please
