Proud Kraut Posted March 4, 2017 Author Share #155 Posted March 4, 2017 Found this one online today. Made by Stalingrad (russia). From what I've seen online, one of the most detailed/accurate 1/35 figure manufacturers today. As usual: you get what you pay for. The set including 10 figures is EUR 177,- over here:

gwb123 Posted September 16, 2017 Share #165 Posted September 16, 2017 That's a rather unusual recovery vehicle, with a side mounted gun. One might think that could be more of a hinderence when working recovery operations.

MECHINF-A15 Posted October 23, 2017 Share #168 Posted October 23, 2017 Hey Gil, We were not the only ones guilty of placing "dummy" guns on a vehicle. About the same time the M31 came out the Germans placed a dummy gun on their Panzerbeobachtungswagen III to allow more room in the turret. Other than the deception part, I'm sure the dummy guns on the M31 were useful as "grab handles" for the crew climbing up or down from the vehicle. Best regards, Mike
Proud Kraut Posted October 23, 2017 Author Share #169 Posted October 23, 2017 Hello Gil, This site may help in explaining the M31. The "guns" were dummies. http://www.historyofwar.org/articles/weapons_M31_tank_recovery_vehicle.html Hope this helps. Mike Thanks for this info, Mike. Regarding these pics again I found the photo of a soldier entering the M31 through the "gun-dummy-door" (scroll down a bit);: http://www.themodellingnews.com/2017/08/two-new-kits-transform-older-mouldings.html
MECHINF-A15 Posted October 23, 2017 Share #170 Posted October 23, 2017 Lars, Thank you for providing the link to Modeling News. I forget that they usually have pretty darn nice articles, info and news on the latest releases. The photo of the M31 retrieving the pre-fab "stick in the ground" German pillbox (Italy) would make a nice diorama for sure. Attached is a photo from my photo archive of an M31 recovering a Sherman in Italy. Note the lack of any markings on the M31. Please share your progress photos & text with us as you build this kit. All the best, Mike

Proud Kraut Posted March 28, 2018 Author Share #174 Posted March 28, 2018 1/35 scale US Infantry in Gas Masks (1918) by ICM
ArtyScout Posted March 28, 2018 Share #175 Posted March 28, 2018 Nice idea, but this kit from MiniArt DEFINITELY makes it a WWI kit, and that is noticeably due to the gas masks. The beauty of the other kits was that; as some of our fellow modelers did; was to make them crossover dioramas. i.e. Mike's dio of the Marines in the Banana Wars or Marines/Soldiers in pre-WWII regalia and weapons like Tom's rendition of Marines defending Wake Island. I hope it works out, if the dioramas are strictly WWI. Semper Fi. Manny
