fstop61 Posted January 30, 2014 #1 Posted January 30, 2014 Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Directions Kennesaw Battlefield Park, at 905 Kennesaw Mountain Drive between Marietta and Kennesaw, Georgia, preserves a Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign, and also contains Kennesaw Mountain. Wikipedia Address: 900 Kennesaw Mountain Dr, Kennesaw, GA 30152 Area: 4.503 sq miles (11.66 km²) Hours: Wednesday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm - See all Phone: (770) 427-4686 Management: U.S. National Park Service I recently visited the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield located in Cobb County north of Atlanta. The park offers a small museum, gift shop, and numerous walking trails to the top of the "mountain". I stopped there during the week and there was only a handful of visitors. I decided to go back on the following Sunday to make the hike. It was packed with people (I would say the majority of the these were only interested in the hiking not the history). Nice park worthy of a brief visit.

Sherman's prize-the City of Atlanta lies under 25-miles away from Kennesaw. Dobbins Air Reserve Base and Lockheed are visible just north of the Atlanta skyline in Marrietta.
rusl4 Posted March 25, 2014 #3 Posted March 25, 2014 I grew up here and have visited Kennesaw for many years.
